I have completed my magazine!
I still need to do the evealuation and a few more blogging bits, but im getting there.
I decided to go with the name 'Alibi' - I think its got a good ring to it and makes people really want to read more. I found myself spending alot of time on the double page spread. The layout is very important to me. I wanted it to seem like a real interview, not something just shoved together by a 17 year old student.
Instead of just making my magazine mainstream pop, i added a bit of an indie, jazz feel to the magazine. This will able me to attract more of an audience and widen my target age. (which was previoulsy tennagers)
My contents page is crammed with information, but not too much as i didnt want to flood the reader. I made sure i put a picture of a male on the contents and referred to the pages which i have made the males of the music industry relevant. for example - a few pages of photos and text of gigs they have previously done. This ties in with my specification of how my magazine should appeal to boys aswell. I am aware that i have made the front cover quite girly but, the majority of my audience will be females. Although i did try to break the male vs female barrier i found it very hard! making a music magazine appeal to both sex's is a very hard thing to do. Unless (and now i realise) if i had done a mixed group in a band, for exaple. The Black Eyes Peas. This is a group that appeals to males, females, all types of race, youth and the middle aged. They also break the barrier between middle class, upper and lower class citezens. This is shown by their worldwide success.
